About South Milwaukee Community Development Authority (SMCDA)

In June of 2000, the South Milwaukee Community Development Authority (SMCDA) absorbed the Parkcrest Housing Authority and began joint operations. The SMCDA is now charged with economic and redevelopment projects and oversight and operations of the Parkcrest Housing federal project. The SMCDA retains the responsibilities of both redevelopment agency and housing authority, pursuant to Wisconsin statutes.
